Part 1: Update to Rosa

1. Open update manager
2. Download all updates
3. Go to edit>upgrade to "Linux Mint 17.3 Rosa"
4. Follow the onscreen instructions
5. Restart your computer

Part 2: Rosa to Sarah

Warning: The KDE version can't be upgraded, as Sarah uses a new desktop called Plasma

1. Open up your terminal
2. Right-click on the terminal and go to Profiles>Profile preferences>Scrolling and turn on unlimited scrolling
3. Click ok
4. Download mintupgrade
5. Run the command 'mintupgrade check' and follow the onscreen instructions
6. If you can do the upgrade, run the command 'mintupgrade download'
7. Finaly, run the command 'mintupgrade upgrade'
8. Restart your computer

Part 3: Sarah to Sylvia

1. Open update manager
2. Download all updates
3. Go to edit>upgrade to "Linux Mint 18.3 Sylvia"
4. Follow the onscreen instructions
5. Restart your computer

Part 4: Sylvia to Tara

1. Open Update Manager
2. Download all updates
3. Run the command 'cat /etc/X11/default-display-manager'. If the output is '/usr/sbin/lightdm', skip over the next 2 steps
4. Run the command 'apt install lightdm lightdm-settings slick-greeter' and select LightDM
5. Run these 3 commands: 'apt remove --purge mdm mint-mdm-themes*', 'sudo dpkg-reconfigure lightdm', 'sudo reboot'
6. Run the command 'mintupgrade check' and follow the onscreen instructions
7. If you can do the upgrade, run the command 'mintupgrade download'
8. Finaly, run the command 'mintupgrade upgrade'
9. Restart your computer
